Pep Guardiola is now unbeaten in 30 games in all competitions. This takes him 4 wins off the record set by Sir Alex Ferguson in 1993/94 season (which is the highest so far in the Premier League era) as per Stathead. How did the Spaniard do it?

Guardiola began the streak with a 2-1 win over Luton at Kenilworth Road Stadium. This was in a Premiership game last December. His next encounter would be in the UEFA Champions League. He guided the Citizens to secure a 3-2 win on the road against Red Star Belgrade, a Serbian club. The Spanish gaffer managed Manchester City through 7 games within that month. Interestingly, he won 6 including 2 at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Between January and February, 2024, the former Barcelona manager led the Citizens through 11 competitive matches. Three of these were in the FA Cup while one was in the Champions League. Curiously, he only drew 1. This was the match week 25 encounter with Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

Last month, the Spaniard to his club to 5 matches. Two of these games ended in draws. The reigning EPL champion has led the Citizens to 7 matches so far in April, 2024. Interestingly, he has already drawn twice. Altogether, he has secured 24 wins and 6 draws in all competitions within the period.

It should be noted that Ferguson got a 34-game unbeaten streak in 1993/94 seaaon. However, 10 of the games ended in draws. The Scotsman added another run of 33 games unbeaten to his name in the 1998/99 season. It is interesting to note that the 2-time UCL winner won the league in both seasons.
