Tony Okocha, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has characterized Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the political product of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Speaking on Channels Television's Politics Today, Okocha highlighted Wike's pivotal role in Fubara's rise to power, asserting that Fubara's gubernatorial position was heavily reliant on Wike's support.

"The discord between Governor Fubara and his mentor, Wike, is essentially Wike's political investment," he stated.

Okocha elaborated on Wike's influence, noting that Wike's strategic maneuvering was instrumental in Fubara's journey from civil servant to party candidate, leading to his unprecedented victory in all 23 local governments of Rivers State.

He quoted Wike saying, "I am not asking you for anything. I am only saying that you are destroying the structure that produced you."He further remarked, "No politician will allow their political structure to be dismantled. Without it, they have no base to return to."
