People Had Come Out To Say Wike Asked Them To Rig The Election, LP Won In Rivers - Ife Salako

opera.com 2 days ago

When speaking with News Central TV, Ife Salako, the Labour Party's spokeswoman in Lagos State, supported Senator Ireti Kingibe's standing as the sole elected official in her jurisdiction after the president.

He contended that Wike ought to defer to her authority. He questioned Wike's allegiance to the Constitution and the current order, pointing out examples of how Wike has weakened democratic procedures.

He emphasized Wike's overt endorsement of an opposing party and provided proof of Wike-initiated electoral manipulation to the APC's advantage.

Despite the Labour Party's supposed triumph in Rivers State, he said that Wike's actions had a direct influence on the election outcome since he allegedly gave orders to others to rig the results in favor of the APC.

He claimed that if Nigeria's legal system worked properly, Wike's misbehavior would justify why he should be jailed.

In his words, "Senator Ireti Kingibe is the only elected office after the president in that space; that should be respected and given the authority to perform her duty."

"So, Wike needs to understand this. Is Wike a respecter of the Constitution? Is Wike a respecter of the system and structure? No."

"This is a man who openly disclosed his support for an opposition party, and there has been video evidence of people who he used to rig the election in favor of the APC."

"People had come out to say Wike asked them to rig the election. The Labour Party won the election in Rivers State, but they rigged it for APC because Wike wanted them to rig it for APC. Such a man should actually be in prison if we have a country that is functioning."
