Governor Aiyedatiwa stance should be a no victor, no vanquished towards the other aspirants - Emami

According to the report from the Sun News, In a recent statement, Ayirimi Emami, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State and the successful candidate of the party's recent governorship primary, to engage with all discontented contenders who vied with him ahead of the off-season election slated for November.

The primaries, overseen by a panel chaired by Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, resulted in Lucky Aiyedatiwa emerging as the victor with 48,569 votes in the direct primaries, surpassing the other 15 aspirants. However, a number of the aspirants have expressed dissatisfaction with the election's outcome, alleging non-adherence to party protocols by the Governor Ododo-led panel.

Emami, while extending his congratulations to Governor Aiyedatiwa on his triumph in the primaries, hailed it as a validation of the Governor's effective governance during his tenure in Ondo State. Emami implored Aiyedatiwa to make efforts to reconcile with the disgruntled aspirants, integrate them into his campaign activities, and prioritize the collective interests of the APC and the progress of the oil-producing state.

Emphasizing the need for a "no victor, no vanquished" approach, Emami stressed that Governor Aiyedatiwa's inclusive attitude towards the unsuccessful aspirants would be pivotal in ensuring a seamless victory for the party and fostering the ongoing development initiatives in the state.

Furthermore, Emami directed his appeal to the other aspirants from the APC governorship primary, urging them to set aside their differences and extend their support to Governor Aiyedatiwa's candidacy.

Among the notable contenders for the governorship ticket competed for by Governor Aiyedatiwa were Senator Jimoh Ibrahim representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Olusola Oke SAN, Prof. Francis Faduyile, Dr. Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo, Isaac Kekemeke, Dr. Soji Ehinlanwo, Akinfolarin Samuel, Okunjimi Odimayo, Adewale Akinterinwa, Olugbenga Edema, Brig. Gen. Ohunyeye Olamide (retd), Morayo Lebi, Oladiran Iyatan, and Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele.
