According to Punch, The Federal Government has initiated the computation of accrued pension for serving federal civil servants, aiming to streamline the early release of entitlements.

According to a memo from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, the computation will focus on employees who were hired on or before June 30, 2024. This step is intended to address delays in pension payments under the old Defined Benefit Scheme.
The memo stated, "To facilitate early release of accrued pension rights, it is necessary to gather data of entitled officers. The Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, alongside the Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders, is compiling data of affected officers."
"All concerned officers are required to complete the provided form, ensuring timely processing of their pension rights when they retire," the memo continued.
