In a candid interview with TVC News, Attorney Kabir Akingbolu shared his perspective on the political turmoil in Rivers State. He underscored the importance of peaceful governance and cautioned against actions that could lead to instability. Akingbolu specifically addressed Governor Siminalayi Fubara's comments suggesting that his supporters might act without fear of repercussions, describing these remarks as an "invitation to chaos."

Akingbolu expressed his surprise over the apparent rift between Fubara and his political mentor, Nyesom Wike, who was instrumental in Fubara’s rise to the governorship. This division, he argued, is not conducive to the stability of the state. Instead, he urged Wike to allow Fubara to complete his current term without interference. He stated that discussions about supporting Fubara for a potential second term should be postponed.

In his interview, Akingbolu remarked, "If you don't want to support him again, that should be another ball game. Let him finish this tenure." This statement reflects his belief that the focus should be on ensuring a stable administration during Fubara's tenure, regardless of future political alliances or disputes.

Akingbolu's call for peace and stability in Rivers State was clear and direct. He appealed to all involved parties to prioritize the state's well-being over personal or political ambitions. He pointed out that Fubara's first year as governor had already been tumultuous and that allowing him to complete his term peacefully was crucial. "If you do want to support him again for a second term, fine and good. Now that he's there as the governor, he has spent one year tumultuously. Let him finish this tenure. If you don't want to support him again, that should be another ball game," he reiterated.

Akingbolu's comments highlight the necessity of maintaining peace and stability in governance, urging political actors in Rivers State to act responsibly and with the state's best interests at heart.
