VIDEO: Girl Accused of Poisoning Ex-lover, 4 Others to Death, Cleared, Speaks Out
According to Punch, Aisha Suleiman, the young girl whose life turned into a nightmare when a post accusing her of poisoning her boyfriend and his four friends went viral on social media, has spoken out after she was cleared of the crime following a thorough investigation.
Sometime in October 2024, a user on X (formerly Twitter) posted Aisha’s photo, claiming she had poisoned the victims with pepper soup that she prepared for her then estranged boyfriend.
The accusation spread like wildfire, and before she could even defend herself, she was met with a furious mob upon returning to her community.
She was tied up, doused in petrol, and moments away from being burned alive. The crowd, convinced of her guilt, ignored her pleas—until authorities intervened just in time to save her.
Aisha was subsequently arrested and dragged to court. Fortunately, human rights activists stepped in, demanding a proper investigation. When authorities took a closer look, they uncovered the real cause of death—carbon monoxide poisoning from generator fumes, not poisoned food.
Speaking to ITV Radio after being exonerated, Aisha vehemently denied any involvement. “I never cooked pepper soup for anyone,” she stated. She explained that she had ended her relationship with her late boyfriend, which led to his father banning her from their home. Moreover, she was miles away in Iyakpi when the tragedy struck in Afashio.
Now, the focus has shifted to the person who started the false accusation—her late boyfriend’s friend. Many believe he should be held accountable for nearly inciting a brutal and unjust killing.
