Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu has taken to social media to air his opinion, following president Bola Ahmed Tinubu's approval of 1 trillion palliative, which will see 3.7 million households getting monthly subsidies of 50 thousand Naira from his Government.

Recall that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu had announced a National Construction and Household Support Programme at the 142nd National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, which was held in Abuja few hours ago.

According to THE GUARDIAN, 100 thousand families in each state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will receive 50 thousand Naira monthly grant through such programme, adding that 10 billion Naira has be allocated for CNG buses and 155 billion Naira has also been earmarked for assorted food items in the 36 states and the FCT.

And so former Presidential candidate, Dele Momodu in response to such approval by Bola Tinubu, took to his official Instagram account to state that "for anyone who knows how to weaponize poverty, throwing money at anything and everything becomes an addiction."

Dele Momodu further recalled how former presidents, Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari distributed telephones and money respectively to Nigerians without getting any positive results from such actions, adding that President Bola Tinubu's plan to distribute 50 thousand Naira to many homes will only create further frustrations.

Dele Momodu then suggested that the government of President Bola Tinubu should rather use the 1 trillion Naira in creating 1 million entrepreneurs that are millionaires by assisting them in their vocations, adding that throwing peanuts at Nigerians is only an extension of hopelessness.

The businessman finally stated that they can do much better.
