The Rivers state APC chairman, Tony Okocha has reacted and talked down on the housing project of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

In a video interview by SYMFONI TV on YouTube, Tony said with what I saw with the housing project, I saw a state not as buoyant as Rivers state, we are more buoyant than them in terms of location, in terms of what we generate as a state but if you go to that state, from left and right, you'll see how the place looks beautiful.

As you enter the town, the areas are dotted with beautiful edifices left and right, and they are called housing schemes. He went further and said when you come back I don't want to use Akwa Ibom because that state is a role model, because in the whole of Uyo you won't encounter any porthole on their roads, and it's attracting businesses.

Here in Rivers, the roads are not smooth, some of you jumped different portholes before getting here. “Wike's policies were environmental urban renewal and he took the whole project communities, the whole GRAs. You will agree that he made a new GRA. Wike can also say that I majored in road infrastructure, whether you call it overhead bridge or flyovers, but the man has at least 12 projects to his credit.”

Speaking further, he said “what's the governor's own, the trans Calabar which of course was a baby of Wike, he has done the first set, or first segment of that road, we need to know about housing, what is his policy, do we agree that, that building, I'm looking for the word to qualify it, that dead trap, that's unheard of buildings that you'll see.”

While speaking he compared the buildings to his security house, he said "if you are going to the airport, the buildings are smaller than my security house, those structures are smaller than my security house.”

While talking down on the housing scheme, he said that you will agree that the lands are wasted, and the government is not putting in any kobo, it's on equity because what they are doing is, and the participation is that they are donating land, if they are donating land.

He said, “if I am governor tomorrow, or by 2027 when we will produce a governor in Rivers State, that will have a mental well reserved, the first advice I will give after the swearing in is that move equipment to that place and bring down that rubbish, I'll do that.”

Speaking emphatically, he said “the renewed hope will produce the Governor of Rivers State in 2027, so there's nothing to worry about. Those buildings that you have seen are like Pharaoh and Egypt, and you will see them no more.”
