According to the report from the Sun, a legal luminary, former chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, under the previous government of President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Itse Sagay (SAN) called for a pragmatic approach to the demands made by organized labor, stressing the need to focus on measures that would have a tangible and beneficial impact on workers' lives.

He suggested prioritizing efforts to enhance the economy and mitigate the cost of living, such as reducing transportation and food expenses.

He cautioned against implementing policies that could potentially trigger inflation and erode purchasing power, emphasizing that such measures would ultimately harm the entire nation.

Using Zimbabwe's hyperinflation as an example, he warned that acquiescing to labor's demands could lead to economic collapse, impacting every citizen, including those in the labor sector.

He said, "So, it will be a farce. We really have to be realistic. What organised labour should be asking for is improvement of economic conditions so that whatever they are given will go far, and life will be better.

Reduced cost of transportation, reduced cost of food which I have earlier suggested, and many other measures, but not to bring in something that will bring inflation. Nobody will be able to buy anything, and we will be like Zimbabweans who need a huge basket to be able to buy a loaf of bread, or who are printing one billion notes. That is what the labour people want to reduce us to, if government accedes to their request, they will just wreck the economy of the country and everybody will go down, including themselves."
