During a conversation with Arise News, Baba Yusuf, a political strategist, issued a warning, stating that timing may hinder Nyesom Wike's attempts to unseat Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He stated that even if Wike had the required tools and attitude, his failure to use them sooner might result in his downfall.
In his words, "His Excellency Nyesom Wike has the man, the material, and the mindset, but what is going to work against Nyesom Wike in the long run is the time factor."
"If you have the man and material and the mindset to do it and you're not able to utilize them timely, you lose the war."
Yusuf stressed that the current circumstances are increasing the people of Rivers State's empathy and support for Fubara instead of depending on assistance from the federal government.
He stressed, "The timing now is building sympathy, empathy, and support for Fubara—not the support of the Federal Government, but the support of the people in Rivers State."
