In a recent statement, Tonye Princewill, a politician, film producer, and philanthropist who was the Labour Party candidate for Governor of Rivers State in 2015 and the Action Congress candidate in 2007, has addressed the political crisis in Rivers State and President Bola Tinubu’s involvement, as reported by Vanguard.

Princewill, an ally of former Transportation Minister Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, was a prominent member of the APC in Rivers State.

In a recent interview, Princewill spoke about the political turmoil in Rivers State and President Bola Tinubu’s intervention.

When questioned about the ethnic dimension of the conflict between Rivers Governor Sim Fubara and Nyesom Wike, Princewill dismissed such claims and pointed out that he had not been in the media spotlight for nearly two years.

In addition, he emphasized the importance of allowing the current leadership to continue their work, comparing it to previous administrations. He stressed that Rivers State is vital to the nation's economy and warned against disrupting its stability. Princewill underscored the need to address any legal issues through proper channels and urged for a peaceful resolution to any disagreements.

During an interview with The Vanguard, He remarked, "Leave our son to work, just like we left other ones before him. Rivers state is the Treasure Base of the nation. Do not play with the goose that lays the golden egg. If he has erred, it is a different thing. If he has broken the law, there are ways and means to deal with that. If you don’t want him in the future, allow him finish his term. Because the silence we hear is the silence of the graveyard. Let sleeping dogs lie. We have witnessed many crisis in Rivers state and we have now become experts at it.
