The Rivers State Government and House of Assembly are vigorously pursuing two legal options following the recent Appeal Court judgment, which has sparked uncertainty over the status of 27 lawmakers, including Martins Amaewhule, as members of the State House of Assembly.

Nname Ewor, a prominent PDP leader and supporter of Fubara, revealed that the House of Assembly has instructed its legal team to appeal the judgment to the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn the decision and clarify the status of the lawmakers. This move demonstrates the government's determination to exhaust all legal avenues and ensure that justice is served.

Additionally, Ewor disclosed that the government plans to file a new lawsuit in the Federal High Court, capitalizing on the Court of Appeal's observation that the state High Court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case. This strategic move aims to reinvigorate the legal process and provide a fresh opportunity for the government to present its case.

Ewor emphasized that the government and House of Assembly remain undeterred and are eager to explore these options, demonstrating their commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that the democratic process is respected. By pursuing these legal options, the government seeks to clarify the status of the lawmakers, provide certainty to the people of Rivers State, and reaffirm its dedication to justice and accountability.
