Erling Haaland, the star striker for Manchester City, set a new Premier League record in the 2022/23 season with an impressive 36 goals, earning him the Golden Boot award. This season, he started strong, leading the Golden Boot race with 14 goals in just 15 appearances. However, a foot injury sidelined him until January 31, when he made a triumphant return with a substitute appearance in a 3-1 win over Burnley.

Despite needing time to regain his form after the injury, Haaland showcased his brilliance by scoring a brace against Everton on February 10, reclaiming his position as the front-runner in the race. He continued his scoring spree with another goal against Brentford on February 20, making it a goal against all 21 Premier League opponents he has faced in his young career.

Although he missed a golden opportunity in a match against an opponent, he made up for it by sealing City's 3-1 derby win over Manchester United on March 3. However, he faced goal droughts against Liverpool and Arsenal. Currently, Haaland has scored an impressive 20 goals for Manchester City this season.

Despite Haaland's stellar performance, he's now tied with Cole Palmer, who made a remarkable surge into contention by scoring four goals against Everton in mid-April, including the fastest perfect hat-trick in Premier League history.

Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa is also a strong contender, trailing just behind the leaders with 19 goals, none of which came from penalty kicks. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah, a consistent threat, has netted 17 goals this season, with his recent strike against Brighton & Hove Albion proving decisive for Liverpool.

Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth has been on an impressive run, scoring 18 goals this season, including one that sparked a remarkable comeback from 3-0 down against Luton Town.

EPL highest goal scorer table for this season:

Phil Foden, known for his exceptional talent, has had a standout season, highlighted by a hat-trick against Aston Villa at the start of April, bringing his goal tally to 14. Similarly, Bukayo Saka has been a key contributor for his team, also tallying 14 goals this season.
