According to a report by Daily Post Nigeria. The World Customs Organization (WCO) member nations would be contacted by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to counter the threat of unauthorized weapons and ammunition being imported into the nation.

At a press conference held on Thursday in Abuja by the Strategic Communication Interagency Policy Committee (SCIPC), National Public Relations Officer (NCS) Abdullahi Maiwada made this announcement.

The Nigeria Police Force is hosting the conference, and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) formed the committee.

The spokespeople for the armed forces, law enforcement, intelligence, and response agencies make up SCIPC.

Maiwada stated that in order to reduce the threat of small arms and light weapon smuggling into Nigeria, the Comptroller-General, NCS, had pledged to revive the Memorandum of Understanding between Nigeria and the Turkey Customs Administration.

He emphasized that the majority of the drugs they had found were coming from India and that the NCS and the General Administration of China Customs had recently signed an agreement.
