Names of the 25 Senators Including Nairobi County Senator and ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna who have voted on bill to allow them and their families to be given government tenders has surfaced.
According to the information, the bill had sought to delete or amend some clauses on the Conflict of Interest Bill, 2023 where 25 Senators overwhelmingly voted for the bill to sail through.
The bill allows the elected leaders or their families to be trade with the government and therefore be awarded government contracts or tenders.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Kisumu County Senator Tom Ojienda, Kakamega County Senator Boni Kwalwale, Kitui County Senator Enock Wambua, Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei, Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Trans Nzoia County Allan Chesang , Meru County Senator Kathuri Murungi are some of the senators who voted for the bill
Others included Nakuru County Senator Tabitha Karanja, Elgeyo Marakwet County Senator William Kisang, Uasin Gishu County Senator Jackson Mandago, Nyandarua County Senator Eliud Methu, Embu County Alexander Mudegu, Tana River County Danson Mungatana, Mandera County Senator Ali Roba among others.
