Senator Ireti Kingibe, representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has made a surprising revelation about her past support for former President Muhammadu Buhari. In a recent interview on Arise TV, Kingibe disclosed that she was an ardent supporter of Buhari and campaigned vigorously for his election, believing he would bring about positive change in the country.
The senator revealed that her efforts, along with those of others, helped Buhari secure an impressive 48% of the vote in the FCT, exceeding his expected 25%. However, Kingibe expressed her disappointment and frustration that despite their efforts, Buhari's administration failed to deliver on its promises.
Kingibe's concerns extend beyond politics, as she fears that the country's worsening state is pushing citizens to the brink. She warned that hunger and desperation are reaching a boiling point, and Nigeria's notorious resilience may not be enough to withstand the growing hardships.
In her own words, “He was thinking he would get 25% in FCT but he got 48% because we all mobilized for him but he too didn't do anything. Things are getting worse in the country. We are getting to the point where I fear that we are pushing the people to the wall because they are hungry now. People can absorb everything.”
