Ayo Adebanjo, a senior leader of Afenifere, made a bold claim in which he laid the burden for the current issues that Nigeria is facing entirely on the shoulders of President Bola Tinubu. He also urged Tinubu to take action in order to remedy the situation. During an interview with Arise News, Adebanjo made the assertion that Tinubu's partnership with President Buhari was a contributing factor to the current state of affairs. He also underlined the importance of Tinubu taking the lead in attempts to change the Constitution.
"The problem we're having now, he caused it, he brought us together with Buhari, that we must have an alliance with him. See how it has landed us," remarked Adebanjo. Adebanjo, on the other hand, believes that Tinubu has the potential to redeem himself by bringing about revisions to the Constitution.
In his words;

Now God has made him to be in position to change all that he has caused. So it is in his own interest and the interest of posterity for Tinubu to change Nigeria's present Constitution which is imposed on us"
