Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Costa has revealed what Cristiano Ronaldo told him after their game versus Slovenia that made him to cry, and this has caused a lot of fans on Social media to react as well.
According to a post shared by Diogo Costa on his verified social media page recently, he said that; he cried when he was told by Cristiano Ronaldo that he (Diogo Costa) had saved him (Ronaldo) from retirement.
In his words he said; "I cried when Ronaldo told me you saved me from retirement."
Recall that Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty in the first half of extra time versus Slovenia few days ago in the quarter finals of the Euro 2024 competition, and needed Diogo Costa to save three penalties later on.
It was Diogo Costa's saves that made Portugal to qualify for the quarter finals, and now the goalkeeper has said that he was thanked by Ronaldo himself after the game.
