The Arewa Think Tank (ATT) has raised questions regarding the actions of Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna State in Nigeria. The Convener of ATT, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, pointed out an apparent irony in El-Rufai's behavior. He highlighted that El-Rufai, who was not respecting court pronouncements and disobeying them during his tenure as governor, is now seeking justice from the same courts.

Yakubu also questioned El-Rufai's contributions to the fight for democracy during Nigeria's military rule. Specifically, he asked where El-Rufai was when prominent figures like Bola Tinubu and Uba Sani were actively involved in the struggle for democracy.

Additionally, Yakubu raised concerns about El-Rufai's efforts to address insurgency and general insecurity in Kaduna State during his eight years as governor.

According to The Nation, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, said, “This is an irony of life; the same Courts whose pronouncements Nasir El-Rufai was not respecting, but he was disobeying then as the Governor of Kaduna State, are the same Courts he is running to today to seek justice.

“Where was El-rufai when Bola Tinubu and Uba Sani were fighting for democracy for Nigeria to get out of the military rule? What did El-rufai do to end insurgency and insecurity generally for the eight years he governed Kaduna”
