According to Metro, Arsenal have been handed a transfer headache over wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin with Bayern Munich interested in the player, according to reports.

At just 16 years old, Obi-Martin is regarded as one of Arsenal's top academy prospects, and the club is eager to retain him despite the attention from Bayern Munich.

The teenage forward made headlines when he scored an impressive 10 goals for Arsenal U16s during a dominant victory over Liverpool U16s.

Following this remarkable performance, Obi-Martin was swiftly promoted to Arsenal's U18s squad, where he continued to shine by scoring seven goals in another commanding win against Norwich U18s.

However, Arsenal faces a significant obstacle in their efforts to retain Obi-Martin due to his dual-nationality status and current Football Association (FA) regulations.

Under FA rules, Obi-Martin cannot sign a professional contract with Arsenal until he turns 17 on November 29.

This restriction does not apply in some other European countries, such as Germany, where players can sign professional contracts at the age of 16.

With the changes brought about by Brexit, young Premier League talents with European Union (EU) passports, like Obi-Martin, have become targets for German clubs.

These clubs can offer professional contracts and the opportunity for first-team football at an earlier age.

Bayern Munich, one of the most prestigious clubs in Germany, has reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Obi-Martin's services from Arsenal.

Losing Obi-Martin to Bayern Munich would be a significant setback for Arsenal, and the club is actively engaged in negotiations with the player's representatives to persuade him to remain at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite Arsenal's efforts, there is concern about Obi-Martin's recent agreement with Elite Project Group, the agency that facilitated Jadon Sancho's move to Borussia Dortmund.

However, it remains uncertain where Obi-Martin will ultimately choose to continue his development, and there is a possibility that he may decide to stay with Arsenal.
