Solomon Lenu, a human rights activist, said that if Governor Fubara remains in the PDP to conduct the Local Government (LG) elections scheduled for October, he may not win the election in Rivers State.

Vanguard reported that he emphasized the PDP state chairman's allegiance to Minister Wike by bringing up his nonattendance at a recent stakeholder gathering that the state electoral commission (RSIEC) had arranged.

He said the party can decide not to offer the governor's chosen candidates election tickets.

In light of these considerations, he recommended that the governor explore other choices in order to protect his political career.

In his words, "He (Fubara) cannot win any election in the state if he remains in the PDP to conduct the LG election in October. The state chairman of the PDP is the minister’s (Nyesom Wike) loyalist."

Remember that he refused to attend the stakeholder meeting last Monday by the state electoral commission, RSIEC?"

"My fear is that the party may not give the tickets to the governor’s candidates for the election. This is why the governor should not hesitate to look elsewhere to save his political career."
