According to Sunday's Vanguard, the Ogbako Ndigbo Nile urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the underlying reasons of unrest in Nigeria. The group was particularly critical of previous president Muhammadu Buhari, saying that he failed to resolve these concerns throughout his eight years in power. In Owerri, at the inauguration of the Ogbako Ndigbo Nile, Azunna Akpelu, the national president of the organisation, addressed the press. He said that the past government in Nigeria ignored the root reasons of unrest, which led to the current problems.

According to Akpelu, Ogbako Ndigbo's stated goal is to bring together Nigerians from the North and the South so that they may all speak with one voice, highlighting the group's dedication to bringing the country's many regions together. He brought attention to the need to debunk destructive myths, such as the idea that the Igbo people hate the Hausa and Yoruba, and emphasised the significance of visibility in eradicating false narratives.

In addition to elaborating on how the four market days serve as cultural markers for Igbo people, he emphasised the Igbo people's pervasiveness and solidarity across Nigeria. There needs to be a correction of misunderstandings regarding the Igbo people, as Akpelu pointed out, because individuals who seek secession do so because they feel ignored and marginalised. In a statement reiterating the group's commitment to unity, Akpelu called on the Igbo people to celebrate their shared culture and provide mutual assistance. Nigeria may be waiting for the Igbo to advance, he said, as no one of Igbo descent has held substantial influence in the country since the civil war.

Akpelu pleaded with President Tinubu directly, urging him to resolve the problems that have stoked unrest in Nigeria. This, he said, might not be the case if former President Buhari had dealt with these issues. While urging swift action, Akpelu brought attention to the worsening situation of Nigeria's economy. (The Vanguard) states that According to him, Ogbako Ndigbo is prepared to unite the North and the South so that they may speak with a unified voice. Everyone here at Ndigbo wants a say in matters that affect us. Right now, no one will pay attention to you until you specifically mention that this is where you are. We need to stand up and put an end to the false accusations made against us. Once again, the claims that the Igbo despise the Hausa and the Yoruba are unfounded.

That is incorrect. This is one aspect of the problem that we will fix, and those who say it are alienating Nigerians. Ogbako Ndigbo Nile has come to bring our family and friends together, no matter where they may be. A man of Igboland should love himself. It is important that we return to the things that unite us. There hasn't been an Igbo man to challenge the throne since the conflict ended. Possibly Nigeria is holding its breath for the Igbo to make a move.
