opera.com 2 days ago

Asari Dokubo, a prominent figure in the Kalabari kingdom, has criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over his attire and behavior at a recent public event.

In a video posted on his Facebook page, Dokubo expressed his disapproval and disgust upon seeing Wike. He was particularly displeased with Wike's choice of clothing and found it hard to believe that someone like Wike could have been considered for Nigeria's presidency.

In Dokubo's words: "I saw Nyesom Wike the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and I felt like throwing up literally. First, I look at his outfit and I ask myself is this man well at all? So Nigeria system would have thrown this fellow to become president; your president and my president.

Did you see that outfit Nyesom Wike wore yesterday? Did you see him in that dance with some people that I call my brothers? Why will people do anything for the sake of money and for the sake of just being close to the corridors of power?"

Dokubo's remarks highlight his strong disdain for Wike's appearance and behavior, underscoring his disbelief that Wike could have been considered for the presidency. He questions Wike's suitability based on his outfit and his conduct at the event, which Dokubo views as inappropriate for someone in a position of power.

This criticism from Dokubo points to a broader dissatisfaction with Wike's public image and raises concerns about the standards expected of public officials in Nigeria. His comments also suggest that people might compromise their integrity or dignity to gain proximity to power and financial gain.

Dokubo's outspoken disapproval emphasizes the scrutiny and expectations placed on political figures, especially those who hold or aspire to hold significant positions within the government.

His remarks reflect broader societal expectations for decorum and the perception of leadership in Nigeria.

This episode not only illustrates Dokubo's personal views but also resonates with a segment of the public that shares his sentiments regarding the behavior and presentation of those in power.
