Robbers who raided warehouses, churches, event centres arrested with 112 bags of rice

A gang of armed robbers who were said to have robbed warehouses, churches, events centres, among others, have been arrested by men of the Delta State Police Command. During their arrest, 112 bags of rice stolen from one of the warehouses were recovered from them, it was gathered on Friday, June 28, 2024.

The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Bright Edafe, who disclosed this on his X handle, added that the robbers were part of those that invaded a university in Oghara and robbed some students of their valuables.

According to Edafe, the robbers would invade the premises of churches, events centres as well as warehouses. They would thereafter tie the security guards and cart away valuables from there.

He disclosed that the robbers invaded a Pentecostal church, stole the air-conditioners, speakers and mixers. They also went to event centres to steal valuables.

The robbers were eventually arrested when they invaded a warehouse in the Ekpan area of the state and carted away 112 bags of rice. The complaint made by the owner of the warehouse caused the police to go after the men who were eventually arrested.

According to Edafe, the men led the police operatives to their hideout where the bags of rice as well asĀ air-conditioners, speakers, mixers and other stolen equipment were recovered from them.

The men are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation into their nefarious activities.
