Pressure continues to mount for President William Ruto as Gen Z's are no longer asking for reshuffling but want a total disbandment of the cabinet ministry, accusing them of being incompetent to help Ruto find solutions to Kenya's problems.

Yesterday, speaking on Citizen TV, Kithure Kindiki addressed critics who questioned his resignation amid perceived failure to satisfy Kenyans. Despite mounting pressure, he stated unequivocally that he has no plans to resign. Professor Kindiki heads the pivotal Interior Ministry during a time marked by extensive public protests, initially triggered by opposition to the 2024 Finance Bill and subsequently expanding to encompass broader grievances against the government.

Kindiki emphasized that the thought of leaving his post has not crossed his mind. He added that if he had considered resigning due to the current crisis facing the country, he would have done so voluntarily. He further clarified that if the president feels that he has failed in his duties in the interior docket then he will not refuse to resign.

“As to when I am resigning, that matter has not crossed my mind because I do not have a reason why I should resign," Kindiki said in an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday.

Despite several people being shot dead outside Parliament, as well as the Githurai 45 Massacre during the finance bill demonstrations with over 40 deaths recorded, Kithure Kindiki commended police officers for acting professionally.

He has also issued a stern warning to criminals and perpetrators who took advantage of peaceful protests to organize crime and loot people's businesses. He alleged that the Director of Criminal Investigation is still collecting exclusive evidence so that they will face the full force of the law and will not go scot-free.
