The operation, carried out in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and the Enugu State Government, targeted shops selling fake and adulterated drugs, food, and other regulated products.

According to NAFDAC officials, the raid was prompted by intelligence reports of widespread counterfeiting and illegal trading in the market. The agency's Director-General, Prof. Moji Adeyeye, stated that the operation was aimed at protecting public health and safety.

The sealed shops were found to be selling various counterfeit and substandard products, including:

- Fake drugs and vaccines

- Adulterated food and beverages

- Unregistered cosmetics and skincare products

- Expired and fake medical devices

The four suspects arrested during the raid are facing charges related to counterfeiting, illegal trading, and endangering public health.

NAFDAC has warned consumers to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or products to the agency. The Enugu State Government has also pledged to support NAFDAC's efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens.

This operation demonstrates NAFDAC's commitment to tackling the menace of counterfeiting and substandard products in Nigeria.
