Tinubu prays for Sanwo-Olu

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on his birthday.

This is according to a statement by the President’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale.

The statement said: “Governor Sanwo-Olu had a successful career in the private sector before joining the public service, scaling the leadership ladder.

“Mr. Sanwo-Olu was elected Governor of Lagos State in 2019 and re-elected in 2023 for a second term in office.

“The President prays for many more years in good health for the Governor and wishes him more wisdom and energy in his service to Lagos State and the nation”.

Fed Govt to centralise revenue system

The Federal Government has taken steps to boost financial transparency and accountability by launching the Revenue Assurance and Central Disbursement Solutions for government bodies.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has convened a stakeholders meeting to this end.

The meeting focused on how to implement the Revenue Assurance and Central Disbursement Solutions for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as Federal Government-Owned Enterprises (GOEs).

NMDPRA Asks Nigerians Not To Panic Over ‘Dirty Fuel’ Claims

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) says it takes seriously its responsibility to monitor and regulate the mid and downstream sector of the petroleum industry in the country.

Ogbugo Ukoha, NMDPRA Executive Director, Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure, made this known in a statement on Tuesday.

Ukoha was responding to allegations by the Dangote Refinery that some major oil marketers are importing dirty fuel into the country.

He said the sulfur content of products being imported into the country is well below the 50 Parts Per Million (PPM) regulatory allowance. He said the Authority strictly monitor compliance with the PPM by all importers and refiners.

The Lagos State Government will divert traffic from Alfred Rewane and Osborne roads in Ikoyi for four weeks.

The government will divert the traffic through Osborne Foreshore Estate axis, from June 26 to July 27.

Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

Osiyemi said that the diversion would enable the Federal Ministry of Works to carry out the first phase of rehabilitation of the asphaltic sections from Osborne Foreshore Estate to Sura Bridge Ramp.

“Motorists from Alexander/Glover are advised to use Oba Adeyinka Oyekan Avenue inwards Ikoyi to connect Obalende/Ring Road and access Third Mainland Bridge to proceed with their journeys.
