In a disappointing finish to their Euro 2024 Group F campaign, Portugal succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against Georgia, with Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot playing the full match, according to People's Person

The game, held at Arena AufSchalke in Germany, saw Georgia take an early lead and never look back.

The match started disastrously for Portugal as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored within the first two minutes.

A misjudged pass from Benfica defender Antonio Silva was intercepted by Georges Mikautadze, who then set up Kvaratskhelia with a perfectly timed through ball.

The Napoli winger showed his class with a precise left-footed shot that beat goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

Portugal struggled to create meaningful chances.

The team’s failure to break down Georgia’s defense was evident throughout the match.

Georgia’s second goal came in the 57th minute when Mikautadze converted a penalty, effectively sealing the game and securing Georgia's progression to the next stage of the tournament.

Despite the overall poor performance of the Portuguese team, Dalot’s individual display stood out.

Returning to the starting lineup after missing the previous match against Turkey, Dalot was one of the few bright spots for Portugal.

He was involved in much of Portugal’s play, touching the ball 68 times and completing 54 of his 55 passes, resulting in an impressive 98% pass accuracy.

He also delivered a key pass and attempted two crosses, although neither found their mark.

Dalot contributed defensively as well, engaging in and winning two aerial duels and completing one successful dribble.

His defensive statistics included one clearance, one blocked shot, one interception, and one tackle, showing his all-round effort despite the team's defeat.
