US Senator Mark Warner is reportedly working to gather a group of Democratic senators to call on President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, following concerns over his ability to govern after a poor debate performance last week, according to, Washington Post
Warner's office neither confirmed nor denied the report by The Washington Post, which cites sources with direct knowledge of the situation.
"Senator Warner, like many others in Washington and across the country, believes these are crucial days for the president's campaign, and he has conveyed that to the White House," Warner's spokeswoman Rachel Cohen told The Post.
One proposed approach is to hold a meeting between Senate Democrats and Biden, where lawmakers can express their concerns directly.
