MP Ndindi Nyoro has sparked controversy following his comments about the assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump. Nyoro condemned the attack, which occurred at a rally in Pennsylvania, labeling it as a dire threat to democracy worldwide.

The MP expressed his hope for Trump's swift recovery and emphasized the importance of political tolerance.

"Political intolerance is the single most threat to democracy anywhere. Horrible," Nyoro tweeted.

"We wish President Trump quick recovery. We are African and Africa is our Business."

However, Nyoro's statement has drawn sharp criticism from various quarters, including fellow Kenyans and political figures. Social media reactions were swift and pointed, with many accusing Nyoro of hypocrisy and double standards.

Twitter user Cullen Ndungu questioned Nyoro's selective outrage, pointing out the silence of Kenyan politicians when local citizens face violence.

"But Wakenya wakiuawa haukua na sauti sio?" he tweeted.

Another user, identified as Boss, reminded Nyoro of his past behavior during the 2022 elections, accusing him of attacking political rivals. "After calling Raila names in 2022 and picking up all sorts of political enemies while you were vying for a mere MP seat in Kiharu," Boss replied.

"Boss hujaona post yeyote ama News kuhusu wakenya wamekufa 😭

The time you took kutafuta hizi picha za Trump ni mingi kuliko yenye ungepata picha za Kware!

Yenyewe Kenyans are not PRIORITIES to the their LEADERS!" Amvic said.

Criticism also came from Hon Speaker KOX(T), who noted a contradiction in Nyoro's statement. "The last line does not co-relate with your statement."
