Rivers State has been plunged into deeper crisis as Chibike Ikenga, the Publicity Secretary of the APC Caretaker Committee, voiced strong concerns about Governor Siminalayi Fubara's approach to governance. In a recent interview on TVC News, Ikenga accused the governor of deliberately creating factions within the state, referring to them as 'they' and 'we'. He argued that this divisive strategy undermines efforts to achieve peace and unity in Rivers State.

Ikenga highlighted several actions by Governor Fubara, particularly the proscription of certain lawmakers and local government chairmen, as evidence of this harmful agenda.

He criticized the governor’s lack of impartiality, emphasizing that a state governor should serve all constituents fairly, regardless of their political affiliations or support.

"I'm not a supporter of the governor, but as the governor of the State, you must be fair to everyone, whether they are in your party or support you or not. You are the governor of the entire state, including those who are against you and those who support you, so you must make decisions according to your oath of office. Fairness must be upheld at all times, but the governor seems unwilling to adhere to these principles. The governor, as the leader here, is partisan; he is interested in dividing the state into two groups, 'they' and 'we', which will not foster peace in the State," Ikenga stated.

The APC Publicity Secretary further criticized Governor Fubara for his partisan approach, which he believes is detrimental to the state's cohesion. Ikenga argued that dividing the state into opposing factions will only exacerbate tensions and hinder progress towards reconciliation and stability.
