According to Vanguard, in a strategic stakeholders meeting held in Awka, Labour Party (LP) chieftain and former governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, declared that the LP will not support traditional politicians in the upcoming 2025 governorship election. Obaze criticized traditional politicians for making unfulfilled promises and emphasized the need for leaders who have demonstrated vision and successfully managed wealth.
“We need someone who is a team player and can be trusted,” Obaze stated. He emphasized the importance of supporting leadership that aligns with Peter Obi and the 2027 Igbo agenda for the Nigerian presidency. Obaze also lamented the deterioration in Anambra's security, quality of life, and governance, calling for a change in leadership to reverse the decline.
Obaze noted that the mandate for the 2025 governorship still belongs to the Anambra South Senatorial zone and urged the zone to find a credible, transformative leader. He affirmed LP’s commitment to providing the necessary support and building blocks for a better Anambra.
“Our task ahead is to support Peter Obi and stakeholders to win the Anambra governorship in 2025 before the presidential elections in 2027,” Obaze concluded.
