According to a report by DAILY POST, Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has stirred speculation about his political future following a series of strategic meetings, including a visit to ex-military Head of State, Yakubu Gowon.
El-Rufai's visit to Gowon's residence in Abuja on Tuesday came on the heels of his second meeting with leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The timing of these engagements has fueled rumors that the former governor may be considering a departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Photographs from the gathering at Senator Abubakar Gada's residence in Abuja depict El-Rufai alongside SDP chairman Shehu Musa Gabam and other party dignitaries.
Among the attendees were also Senator Teslim Folarin, the APC gubernatorial candidate for Oyo State in the 2023 general elections, and Senator Nazif Suleiman, a prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Bauchi State.
His presence at a Ramadan iftar hosted at his Abuja residence was attended by influential figures such as the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and Kashim Ibrahim-Imam.
