Police Arrest VeryDarkMan Over Defamation Allegations

Controversial social media critic, Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has been arrested by Nigerian police operatives at his Abuja residence on Sunday.

While the reason for his arrest is yet to be disclosed, his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that it is related to his recent exposé on his X.com.

According to Adeyanju, Otse was arrested on the orders of CP Igwe for allegedly defaming someone who had been accused of scamming a Nigerian abroad.

Fire Guts Ogun Trailer Park

A late-night Saturday fire that rocked the Obasanjo Trailer Park in Ogere along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway axis of Ogun State destroyed one tanker and several makeshift shops.

Our correspondent, who visited the scene of the fire on Sunday, gathered that the fire started at about 11pm on Saturday.

The fire was said to have emanated from one of the shops before gutting the truck that was under repair at the park.


Obi Urges South-East Governors To Collaborate On Tackling Regional Security Challenges

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi has admonished governors of the south-east to collaborate to solve the security challenge of the region.

In a statement by the spokesperson, Peter Obi Media Reach, Yunusa Tanko, the former governor of Anambra state, expressed his desire for all regions to work collectively for the progress of their respective areas, thereby contributing to the overall development of Nigeria.

Obi said: “In the case of the South-East, the problems, like elsewhere, are many. However, security is the most pressing issue. I again urge the Governors to work as a family, especially now towards solving this problem, because working in isolation will achieve less and consume more resources.”
