Brian Mutiga, a renowned Meru politician, has declared that President William Ruto misled Kenyans into voting for him to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta and has called on Kenyans to work together to force Ruto out of government by 2027.
Mutiga, who led a fierce campaign for UDA in 2022, stated that he chose Ruto because he believed he was the best match for the role, but he now recognizes that he made a serious mistake.
In a post on X, the young politician accused Ruto of relinquishing Kenya's sovereignty to foreign lenders such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), referring to him as a "brutal dictator".
"Kenyans backed UDA's values, policies, and beliefs, which is why they elected President Ruto. Things we later learned were only in their papers, not in their hearts and minds. Kenyans should leave this government as soon as possible because they are unsatisfied and disillusioned with it. Kenyans prefer a president who is courteous, empathetic, and attentive. "We should remove President Ruto from office because he is a cruel dictator," he told the crowd.
The MCA candidate for Kianjai Ward threw his full support to ODM leader Raila Odinga, praying that he would be well enough to oppose Ruto in the upcoming elections. "Each Kenyan will have a personal stake in the 2027 elections. I can only hope that Raila Odinga, who is willing to give it his all, grows stronger and healthier, allowing ODM to rebrand. President Ruto cannot fool people; he has already fooled Kenyans once. Mutiga declared that Ruto can only serve one term as president.
