In a recent interview with Arise News, Dr. Austin Tam-George, former Commissioner for Information in Rivers State, delivered a pointed critique of Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Governor of Rivers State. "The person actually beating the drum is none other than the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike. He emphasized that Wike has publicly declared his intentions, stating, "He has in his public statement repeatedly said he would make the administration destabilized, he said it very clearly that I will make the Governor suffer."

These accusations come amidst a backdrop of political instability and legal battles in Rivers State. The conflict between Governor Fubara and his predecessor has seen various actions aimed at consolidating power, including the controversial tenure extension of local government chairmen, which was later annulled by the courts, and the appointment of caretaker committees by Fubara
