Dele Farotimi, a lawyer, has spoken about instances where civil servants were caught up in investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), with some individuals allegedly owning as many as 100 houses in Abuja alone.

In a post on his Facebook page, Farotimi questionioned the rationale behind such excessive property ownership by a single person, emphasizing that it far exceeds what could reasonably be attributed to mere poverty. He expressed concern over the greed and unethical behavior that drive individuals to accumulate wealth beyond their needs

In Farotimi's words: "I heard of Civil Servants caught up in EFCC's web some of whom own as many as 100 houses in Abuja for that matter. In just one town you find a person owning a 100 houses and you begin to ask yourself exactly what does a single person expects to do with so much. People steal more than they can spend in a hundred lifetime. You begin to understand that this is not acquisition that can be explained by poverty mentality, that has been elevated beyond that".
