Salihu Lukman, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) national vice chairman for the North-West, recently expressed his disapproval of Senate President Godswill Akpabio's activities.
Lukman criticized Akpabio for damaging Nigeria's reputation by showing disdain for the Senate and his fellow senators. He noted that the situation has worsened due to the Senate's loss of independence and increased subordination to the president. This shift, he argued, has given the Senate President the power to take actions that harm the institution's standing and its members.
Lukman emphasized the importance of senators behaving responsibly and respectfully to maintain the Senate's reputation and the public's confidence in Nigeria.
