NSCDC Arrests Suspects in Gombe for Fertilizer Theft, Banditry, and Vandalism

In a crackdown on criminal activity in Gombe State, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested several individuals for various offenses, including the theft of fertilizer, banditry, and vandalism.

As reported by PUNCH, According to Commandant Muhammad Bello, who was represented by the Public Relations Officer, Saad Buhari, the NSCDC arrested a 35-year-old man, Mohammed Sani, for stealing 26 bags of fertilizer from a shop in Kaltungo Local Government Area. Sani allegedly carried out the theft with the help of an accomplice who is still at large.

"Sani carted away the bags with the support of his friend who is at large. He will be charged for conspiracy, mischief, and theft," Bello stated.

The commandant also presented a notorious criminal, Abubakar Mohammed, also known as Baba Condenser, who was previously on the NSCDC's wanted list. Mohammed, along with his accomplice Ahmed Adamu, 23, are accused of kidnapping one Bello Sani, 26, and collecting a ransom of N70,000 before releasing him. The two suspects will be charged for banditry and kidnapping.

In addition, the NSCDC paraded three suspects - Haruna Abdullahi, Yusuf Saidu, and Hassan Mohammed - for vandalizing cables belonging to the Gombe State Water Board.

"Gombe State Water Board complained on the vandalism of cables in their transformer. Haruna Abdullahi, Yusuf Saidu, and Hassan Mohammed were arrested for tampering with the cables from their transformers," Bello said.

The arrests by the NSCDC demonstrate the ongoing efforts to combat criminal activity and safeguard the community in Gombe State. The suspects will be charged accordingly, and the NSCDC has vowed to continue its crackdown on various forms of criminal behavior in the region.
