According to the Bauchi State Police Command in a statement on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, a man who abducted a 10-year-old girl, threatened to cut her tongue and burn her alive if she shouted from where she was kept has been arrested by men of the command.
The state police command announced the arrest on its Facebook wall on Tuesday night, saying the man, whose name was given as Shafi'u Sule, was arrested by the operatives attached to the Ningi Divisional Police Headquarters in conjunction with other quasi security groups.

It was gathered that the operatives received a. report of a missing 10-year-old girl and this made them to begin investigation into the matter.
However, following intelligence reports gathered by the operatives, the man was found with the girl at Katsinawa Tabulawa Village in the Ningi Local Government Area of the state.
According to the command, the man was arrested and during interrogation, it was discovered that shortly after he abducted the girl, he kept her inside a room and threatened to cut her tongue as well as burn her alive if she shouted from where she was kept.
The man was said to have given more useful information to the police operatives about his act and the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi, for more interrogation. He is expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
The girl has also been reunited with her parents.
