Dele Momodu, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), took to social media to question the alleged support former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, provided to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election. Momodu questioned how much influence Wike supposedly wielded to exhibit what he described as destructive behavior in the country.

In a post on his official Instagram account titled "Power Drunkenness (PUN intended)," Momodu criticized Wike, highlighting an incident where a 56-year-old man insulted a 70-year-old woman on national television, and lamented that the National Assembly has not addressed this issue.

Momodu questioned how many votes and how much money Wike allegedly contributed to Tinubu's campaign that allows him to act with such impunity in Rivers, FCT, and other parts of Nigeria. He also argued that being praised as "Mr. Projects" does not justify Wike's behavior, suggesting that it has led him to act as though he were above others. He remarked, "How many votes and how much money did this Wike man give Tinubu that he is allowing him to go on rampage, in Rivers, FCT and some other parts of Nigeria..."
