According to reports from DAILY POST, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State has announced the commencement of its rallies and campaigns ahead of the upcoming local government elections scheduled for Saturday, July 20, 2024.
The Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSlEC) had earlier fixed the date for the polls, which will see the election of local government chairmen and councilors across the state's 13 LGAs and 171 political wards.
Addressing the media on Thursday, the APC State Publicity Secretary, Ogbuatu Chidi Simbad, expressed the party's unwavering commitment to ensuring that the "people's choice of candidates" emerge victorious in the elections.
"The APC, as the only political party in Ebonyi State that truly values the voice and opinions of its supporters and citizenry, is fully committed to ensuring that the people's choice of candidates emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections," Simbad said in a statement.
The party's decision to kick off its campaigns on Friday, June 28, 2024, is a strategic move to solidify its grassroots support and showcase its strengths to the electorate.
Simbad highlighted the party's "democratic and constitutional approach to candidate selection during her primaries," which he claimed has "set it apart from other political parties in the state, giving it an edge and earning it the trust and support of the people."
The APC spokesperson expressed the party's optimism and confidence in securing victory in the upcoming polls, attributing it to the party's "grassroots mobilisation efforts, inclusive approach to governance, and commitment to good governance," which he said have "resonated with the people of Ebonyi State."
"The APC in Ebonyi State is ready to showcase its strength, unity, and determination to win in all the 13 LGAs and 171 political wards.
“The party's message of progress, development, and inclusivity will be carried to every corner of the state during the rallies, and the party is poised to emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections. Victory is indeed within reach for the APC in Ebonyi State," Simbad asserted.
