Edwin Clark, the convener of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, examined the complex power dynamics and political maneuvering within the Nigerian police force and judiciary.

The Sun stated that Clark highlighted the contentious period when Ibrahim Magu acted as the EFCC's chair, leading to his controversial arrest, detention, and promotion despite the panel's adverse findings.

He brought up the matter concerning Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General, alleging that Malami had misused his authority by appointing his inexperienced nephew as the head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He stated, "Magu was in office for five years in an acting capacity. Then a panel was appointed with the former president of the Court of Appeal as its chairman."

"And at the end of it all, the same Magu who was humiliated, disgraced, arrested, and detained was promoted and retired. He later made charges against the Attorney General; where are those charges?"

"Nobody tried them, and it was an opportunity for the Attorney General to bring his nephew, who was less than 40 years old, to become the chairman of EFCC over and above his seniors who were actually within the system."

"That is the kind of country we have, and today Malami is gone, and he wanted to be governor of Kebbi State."
