Marketers under PETROAN and IPMAN explained the recent petrol scarcity in Abuja, attributing it to delays in supply from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). PETROAN's president stated they rely solely on NNPCL for product, and shortages occur when NNPCL doesn't supply enough fuel. IPMAN's president noted slow loading at depots and discrepancies in pricing among private and NNPCL stations, where prices ranged from N617 to N715 per litre. The situation led to long queues, with black marketers selling petrol at exorbitant prices.

Plateau Community Gets Mobile Force Base to Boost Security

The Federal Government has fulfilled its promise to establish a mobile police base in Gashish community, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, following a deadly attack in 2018. Initiated by the N-HYPPADEC, the project aims to enhance security in the region. At the inauguration, represented by the Chief of Staff, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation praised the initiative, affirming ongoing efforts to improve safety and support displaced persons' return. The project includes barracks renovation and new facilities to aid police operations in maintaining community safety.

Insecurity: COAS urges Zamfara, Kebbi residents to provide vital information to military for prompt response

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Lagbaja, called on residents of Zamfara and Kebbi States to provide crucial information about bandit hideouts to aid military operations. Brigadier General Sani Ahmed relayed the COAS's appeal during a distribution event by the Nigerian Army's 1 Brigade, Gusau, where medical supplies, educational materials, and clothing were donated to support local communities. This initiative is part of efforts to strengthen civil-military relations and enhance security amidst ongoing challenges in the region.
