European Champions Real Madrid and English Premier League top side Arsenal are set to do battle to sign a particular footballer this summer. The player in question is Joan Garcia who plays as a goalkeeper for Spanish side Espanyol.
Real Madrid and Arsenal are highly interested in securing the services of Joan Garcia this summer. The 23 year old Spanish Goalkeeper was very key for Espanyol in the 2023/2024 season helping them gain promotion to Spain's top flight. His development at the Catalan club has attracted interests from some teams across Europe who want to make a move for him.
According to reports from media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid could do battle with Arsenal to secure the signing of Joan Garcia from Espanyol this summer. The Spanish club are looking to make reinforcements in their goalkeeping department following an uncertainty over the future of Ukrainian stopper Andriy Lunin. Arsenal on the other hand wish to sign Garcia as a new competition for their No 1 keeper David Raya.
Joan Garcia reportedly has a release clause of €25 Million Euros at Espanyol which seems really affordable for the interested parties. The goalkeeper's current contract at the Catalan club expires in 2028.
