Edo Gruesome Murder: Body of Graduating UNIBEN Student Buried, Call for Justice

The remains of the twenty two year old graduating student of Chemistry from the University of Benin, Glory Adekolure who was allegedly raped and beaten to death has been buried in Iyowa community, Edo state.

Family members and friends who came to pay their last respect for the deceased demanded proper investigation so that justice will be served on the perpetrators of the dastardly act.

Idowu Glory Adekolure, the 22 year old graduating Chemistry Student from the university of Benin, was last seen on the 13th of June 2024.

According to her elder sister who saw her that same day, she went to school to submit her project work before heading home but she never got home alive.

Her lifeless body was found close to a Pig Farm few distance to her house.

According to her family members and friend ,the injuries on her body was indication that she was raped and beaten to death.

 Late Glory Adekolure hailed from Idanre  Community in Ondo State but she and her family resided at Iyowa community in Edo state .

Sixteen days after her gruesome murder, friends and family members of the deceased converged on the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Mortuary to take her lifeless body for burial.

Hugs of consolation and agony could best describe the mood here .

Before taking the corpse for the final interment, there was a brief stop over at the exact spot where they found her lifeless body close to her house.

From here, they proceeded to the late Glory's family compound at Iyowa Community, Edo state for the burial.

With tears still rolling down the eyes of the deceased siblings they called for proper investigation of the incident so that justice could be served on the perpetrators.

This is not the first time this kind of unfortunate incident was happening in Benin City.

On May 27, 2020, a 22 year old one hundred level Microbiology Student of the University of Benin, Uwaila Omozuwa was raped and killed inside a Church. The onus now lies on the Nigerian police Edo State Command, to investigate and bring the perpetrators to book.
