According to the report from the Punch, Former Rivers State lawmaker Senator Magnus Abe has publicly announced making peace with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike as part of efforts to mend fences and foster unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Abe, who had been in a feud with Wike over differing political positions, expressed his commitment to ending the rift in a Facebook post on Friday. He stated, "I have made peace with the Honourable Minister of the FCT, and former governor of Rivers State."

Highlighting the significance of unity, Abe noted that he accompanied Wike to Chief Tony Okocha’s thanksgiving ceremony, a move he described as showcasing his dedication to resolving party conflicts. He praised Wike's honest and direct approach to resolving the conflict, saying, "I want to publicly thank the minister; he could have chosen to act differently but his style is direct, truthful, and sincere."

Abe expressed optimism that the APC in Rivers State would benefit from the peaceful reunification and reintegration process. He mentioned, "The disagreements within are over and done for good because the oxygen for conflict has been extinguished," believing that unity is the right path for the party.

Acknowledging that unity may take time, Abe emphasized the need for all party members who support a harmonious path to come together. He expressed gratitude to Chief Okocha for hosting the Thanksgiving ceremony and affirmed his loyalty to the APC, urging all to work together for the collective benefit.

Looking ahead, Abe called on party members to focus on the economy for the time being and emphasized the importance of unity within the party. He indicated that further discussions would take place at the appropriate time, stating, "When it is time, we will speak. For now, let us focus on the economy. God bless you all."
