The recent wave of protests in Kenya, which was led by the younger generation known as "Gen Z," has brought about significant changes to the citizens from the government of President William Ruto’s administration. These demonstrations, marked by their intensity and persistence, have achieved remarkable outcomes from the government who had imposed more taxes to it’s citizens

One of the main agender achievements of the "Gen Z" protests is the rejection of the Finance Bill 2024. The bill, which faced widespread criticism by the Kenyan citizens, was ultimately rejected by President William Ruto due to the relentless demonstrations by the young activists. This move is seen as a victory for the protesters, who demanded fiscal policies that align with their vision for economic justice and fairness to it’s citizens

In addition to the rejection of the Finance Bill, the protests led to the suspension of the Chief Administrative Secretaries (CAS) positions “which are not in the Kenyan constitution” within President Ruto's administration. This decision is a direct response to the demands of the "Gen Z" activists, who called for a reduction in what they perceived as unnecessary government positions and expenditures.

Another outcome of the protests is the reduction of government advisors by 50 percent within the public service. This move, implemented with immediate effect, aims to streamline the government and reduce public spending, addressing one of the core concerns of the demonstrators. This advisors was also alleged that they are misadvising the Kenyan government on how it runs it’s business.

However, the budget that was allocated for the offices of the First Lady, the spouse of the Deputy President, and the wife of the Prime Cabinet Secretary has been removed by the president because Kenyan citizens termed it as unnecessary budget. This decision reflects the protesters' call for a more transparent and accountable use of public funds.

The protests also led to the removal of confidential budgets for the government, further enhancing transparency in governmental financial matters. Additionally, the renovation budgets were reduced by 50 percent, aligning with the protesters' demand for more prudent and efficient use of public resources.

The achievements of the Kenyan "Gen Z" Revolution underscore the power of youth activism in effecting change. Through their collective efforts, the young protesters have successfully challenged the status quo and brought about significant reforms in the governance of Kenya.
