First Lady Offers Condolences to Vice President's Family After Mother-in-Law's Passing

According to reports from DAILY POST, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, visited the family of the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, following the passing of his mother-in-law, Hajia Maryam Albishir.

Hajia Maryam Albishir, the mother of the Vice President's wife, Hajia Nana Shettima, died on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

During the condolence visit, the First Lady took the opportunity to extol the virtues of mothers, emphasizing their crucial role in shaping the lives of their children.

"The influence of the mother is great. Though our fathers tend not to scold us as much as our mothers, what our mothers do, especially when we are still very young, is really remarkable," Oluremi Tinubu said.

She acknowledged the profound loss experienced by the family, noting that the passing of a mother is a deeply painful experience, regardless of the mother's age.

"The loss of a mother is really a painful thing and no matter how old she is, you will not want her to go," the First Lady stated.

The First Lady's visit was accompanied by the wives of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Deputy Senate President, the Governor of Imo State, and the Chief of Staff to the President.

The Vice President's wife, Hajia Nana Shettima, expressed her appreciation for the First Lady's condolence visit during this difficult time.
